This one I found in an old cook book. It is really good!

Ingredients For fresh apple cake

  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    shortening or butter
  • 4 lg
    eggs
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 2 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/2 c
    cold water
  • 1 Tbsp
    cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg
  • 1 Tbsp
    baking soda
  • 1 Tbsp
    salt
  • 1 c
    nuts (chopped)
  • 2 c
    apples (finely chopped)

How To Make fresh apple cake

  • 1
    Mix sugar, and shortening until creamy. Add eggs, then add water and vanilla. Sift flour, spices, soda, and salt. Add to sugar mixture, mix, then add apples and nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
