Ingredients For english matrimonials

  • 1 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 c
    brown sugar,lightly packed
  • 1 1/2 c
    rolled oats,uncooked
  • 3/4 c
    butter, room temperature not too soft though
  • 3/4 c
    jam-raspberry or plum or cooked dates

How To Make english matrimonials

  • 1
    Mix together flour,sugar and rolled oats. Work in butter until mixture is crumbly. Press 1/2 of the mixture evenly in an 8-inch square pan. Spread with jam to within 1/4-inch of edges. Press remaining mixture over jam, covering it completely. Bake in 325^ for 40-45 minutes, until golden brown. Cool and cut in squares.
