I made this in a pinch with ingredients I had sitting in the pantry. The cake is pretty darn tasty even without the frosting. My peanut butter-loving family says this is now their favorite dessert. And what doesn't go with peanut butter? You can drizzle chocolate on the frosting or place sliced bananas between a two-layered cake. Your favorite jam would go great dolloped on top of cupcakes! Oh, the possibilities are endless. I hope you enjoy it.

Blue Ribbon Recipe

This recipe jazzes up a boxed yellow cake mix that any peanut butter fan will love. The moist cake is topped with a homemade peanut butter frosting that's guaranteed to satisfy your sweet tooth. You taste peanut butter in every layer of the cake and icing. Boxes of cake mix have become smaller over the years. If you can find a 22 oz cake mix for this recipe, that will work best. If not, we suggest adding about 2 oz of flour to the cake mix otherwise the texture may be slightly off.
