This is a cake for all chocolate lovers who want a rich, moist and gooey cake. I have been making this cake for years. I hope you enjoy this cake as much as my family does.

Ingredients For double chocolate gooey buter cake

  • 16 Tbsp
    butter, melted, divided
  • 1
    18 1/4 oz box chocolate cake mix
  • 3 lg
    eggs, divided
  • 1 lb
    powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1 c
    chopped nuts
  • 8 oz
    cream cheese
  • 3 1/2 Tbsp
    cocoa powder

How To Make double chocolate gooey buter cake

    Lightly spray 9x13 pan with cooking spray. Preheat oven to 350.

    Combine cake mix, 8T (1 stick) melted butter and 1 egg. Mix well and press into the bottom of prepared pan

    Beat cream cheese until smooth. Add remaining 2 eggs and cocoa powder, mix til combined. With mixer on low add powdered sugar and mix well. slowly add remaining melted butter and vanilla. Beat til smooth.

    Stir in nuts (optional) Pour over cake bottom. Bake 40-50 min. DO NOT over bake. Center should still be gooey when finished baking. Let cool before cutting
