Ingredients For date cake

1 cchopped dates* (see note below)

1 cwesson oil (grandma said it had to be that brand)

2 csugar
-
3eggs, beaten
-
1 cpecans, chopped

1 cbuttermilk

1 tspbaking soda
-
2 call purpose flour, sifted well

1 tspsalt
-
2 tspallspice
-
2 tspground cloves
-
1 tspcinnamon
How To Make date cake

1Mix all ingredients in a large bowl. Pour into a greased and floured tube pan. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 350 degrees for 55 minutes.

2NOTE: *Cooked prunes or raisins can be used instead of the dates--or--a combination of these 3....as long as it is 1 cup total.
