Dark chocolate fudge cake chock full of Oreo yumminess with an Oreo cream cheese frosting!

Ingredients For dark chocolate oreo fudge cake

  • 1 box
    Duncan Hines dark chocolate fudge cake mix (15.25 oz)
  • 1/3 c
    canola oil
  • 1 c
    water
  • 3
    eggs
  • 1 pkg
    oreo cookies (13.29 oz)
  • 1/2 c
    real butter, softened
  • 8 oz
    cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tsp
    real vanilla
  • 1 bag
    powdered sugar (32 oz)
  • heavy cream or milk, as needed
  • sprinkles (optional)

How To Make dark chocolate oreo fudge cake

    Mix cake mix, oil, water, and eggs according to package directions.

    Roughly chop 2 - 2 1/2 rows of Oreos and fold into cake batter.

    Bake in a sprayed 9x13 pan, 26 - 31 minutes. Let cake cool completely before frosting.

    In a stand mixer, beat softened butter and cream cheese together approximately 3 - 4 minutes. Add vanilla and mix until incorporated.

    Slowly mix powdered sugar into sugar/butter mixture. Once all powdered sugar is incorporated, mix at higher speed another 2 minutes. Add heavy cream or milk as needed to reach frosting consistency desired.

    Finely chop 4 - 5 Oreos and gently fold into cream cheese frosting. Be gentle! Otherwise you’ll end up with gray-ish black icing!

    Spread over cake and roughly chop another 1-2 Oreos for decorating the top. You can also add a few sprinkles, if desired.
