I just love these bars...the tartness of the cranberries go well with the cream cheese frosting. This would be a nice addition to your Holiday meals. Enjoy!! My photos

Ingredients For cranberry bars & cream cheese frosting

1 stickbutter, room temperature

1 1/2 csugar

2eggs
-
1 tspvanilla

1 1/2 cflour

1/2 tspsalt

1 tspbaking powder
-
2 cwhole fresh cranberries
-
1/2 cchopped pecans
- FROSTING
-
2 1/2 cconfectioners' sugar

4 ozcream cheese, softened
-
1/4 cbutter, softened
-
2 tspmilk
-
1 tspvanilla extract
How To Make cranberry bars & cream cheese frosting

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 13 x 9 baking pan.

2In bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Add flour, salt, baking powder, cranberries and nuts.

3Spread batter into pan. Batter will be thick ( If too thick, add about 1/3 cup buttermilk or milk to loosen some.)

4Bake in preheated oven 35 to 40 minutes. Cool completely.

5Frosting: In bowl, beat together all ingredients.

6Spread on cooled bars and cut into small squares...enjoy!
