1 csifted flour

1 ccorn meal (i used yellow)

1 tspbaking soda

1 tspsalt

1egg, well beaten

1 1/4 cbuttermilk

4 Tbspshortening, melted
How To Make corn meal griddle cakes

1Sift flour once, measure.

2Add cornmeal, baking soda, and salt and sift again.

3Combine egg, buttermilk, and shortening.

4Add to flour mixture. Stir only until blended.

5Bake on hot, greased griddle. ***I used a cast iron skillet and put enough oil in it as if I was cooking just regular pancakes. Make sure the oil is hot. I used a measuring cup to pour into the skillet.****
