A good friend of mine made this for me about 20 years ago and it is one if my favorite cake recipes. It is a cake version of cinnamon rolls!

Ingredients For cinnamon bun cake

  • 1 box
    golden cake mix (butter recipe)
  • 3/4 c
    butter, melted
  • 4
    eggs
  • 8 oz
    sour cream
  • 1 c
    brown sugar, lightly packed
  • 1 Tbsp
    cinnamon
  • 2 c
    powdered sugar
  • 4 Tbsp
    milk
  • 1/2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp
    butter flavoring

How To Make cinnamon bun cake

    Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. In a medium bowl, beat the cake mix, butter, eggs, and sour cream on low for a minute to blend.

    Pour the batter into a 9x13 baking dish. Pour half the cake batter in.

    In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle on top of the batter in your baking dish. Pour the remaining batter over the sugar mixture.

    Bake cake for 30-40 minutes until done.

    Mix powdered sugar, milk, vanilla and butter extracts to make a glaze.

    Remove cake from oven and while still warm top with your glaze and let cool.
