    butter
  • 1/2 c
    shortening
  • 3 c
    sugar
  • 5
    eggs
  • 3 c
    flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 4 Tbsp
    cocoa powder
  • 1 c
    milk
  • 1 Tbsp
    vanilla extract
  • ICING INGREDIENTS
  • 1/4 c
    butter
  • 2
    squares chocolate
  • 1 box
    confectioners' sugar
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • milk as needed

How To Make chocolate pound cake

    Cream butter and shortening.

    Add sugar and eggs.

    Sift dry ingredients together, and add vanilla.

    Bake in tube pan at 325 degrees for about 1 hour and 20 minutew.

    Melt butter and shortening together.

    Stir in sugar, vanilla, and enough milk to spread.
