Ingredients For chocolate pound cake

  • 1 1/2 c
    butter, softened
  • 3 c
    sugar
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 5
    eggs
  • 1 c
    sour milk (add 1 tbs. vinegar to milk)
  • 3/4 c
    cocoa powder
  • 2 c
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking powder

How To Make chocolate pound cake

    Spray a bundt pan with Pam. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Cream butter, sugar, and vanilla together. Add one egg at a time. Combine all dry ingredients together and add to butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Keep your beaters going at a lower speed to prevent the air from escaping your batter. Pour batter into greased bundt pan and bake for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Remove from oven and cool on rack for 10 minutes. Invert onto a plate and sift with powdered sugar on top.
