This is an impressive looking 4 layer chocolate Torte that is easy to prepare. You make it one day ahead and you start with a cake mix. It also is sooo good!

Ingredients For chocolate bavarian torte

  • 1 pkg
    (18.5oz)devils food cake mix without pudding
  • 1 pkg
    (8oz) cream cheese..room temp
  • 2/3 c
    packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1/8 tsp
    salt
  • 2 c
    whipping cream...whipped (1 pint)
  • 2 Tbsp
    grated semi-sweet chocolate

How To Make chocolate bavarian torte

    Mix and bake cake mix according to directions on package,using 2-9" cake pans. Cool 15 minutes,remove from pans to cooling racks.

    In a mixing bowl,beat cream cheese,sugar,vanilla and salt until fluffy.Fold in whipped cream.

    Split each cake into 2 horizontal layers. Place 1 on a serving plate(brush crumbs off sides lightly)Spread with 1/4 of cream mixture.Sprinkle with 1/4 of grated chocolate. Repeat layers ending with cream mixture. Sprinkle with grated chocolate.(Anchor with toothpicks between layers)
