These were sold at a german bakery in Mascoutah , Illinois and called gooeys butter cake years ago

Ingredients For chess cake

    Yellow cake mix
  • 1
    egg
  • 1 stick
    Butter
  • Filling Recipe Below
  • 3
    eggs
  • 1 box
    powder sugar
  • 8 oz
    cream cheese

How To Make chess cake

    Crust Recipe yellow cake mix ,1 stick butter ,1 egg MIX and pat into a 9x13 pan

    Filling .... Mix powdered sugar, 3 eggs , 8 ounces cream cheese well ... Pour on the crust ...Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes Cool then enjoy
