cherry pecan cinnamon roll cake - annette's
I took your basic cinnamon roll cake recipe and added a twist. This is the dessert I made for Easter dinner this year. It is like eating breakfast and dessert all at once. I mean what's better than a glazed cinnamon roll anyway? Adding some sweet yet tart dried cherries and pecans to it, that's what! The great thing about this recipe too, whether you fix it this way or leave it plain is, you can have it for breakfast and not feel guilty. Right? I mean it is a giant cinnamon roll after all. Basic cake recipe is from my grandma. The added 'tweak' is my own. Photos are my own.
Blue Ribbon Recipe
This is a great twist on a cinnamon roll recipe. This filled the Test Kitchen with the wonderful cinnamon aroma while baking. Adding dried cherries and pecans really gives this delicate and sweet cake great texture. Plus, the flavor combination is fabulous. The glaze is the perfect topping. Great for brunch, dessert or just because. Very versatile and so yummy!
