This is the very first coffeecake I made when I was learning to bake! That was over 40 years ago and it still impresses my guests.

Ingredients For cherry coffeecake
- CAKE

1 csugar
-
4eggs
-
1 ccanola oil
-
2 cflour
-
1 Tbspplus 2 teaspoons baking powder

1 tspsalt
-
1/2 tspalmond extract
-
1 tspcinnamon
-
1 cancherry pie filling
- POWDERED SUGAR GLAZE

1 1/2 cpowdered sugar

2 tsplemon juice
-
1 Tbspbutter, softened

milk if needed
How To Make cherry coffeecake

1Cream together the sugar, eggs and oil.

2Add the remaining ingredients and mix well.

3Pour half of the batter into a greased and floured 9x13 pan.

4Put cherry pie filling (or any pie filling you prefer) on top of batter and sprinkle with cinnamon.

5Top with rest of the batter.

6Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes or until tests done.

7Mix glaze ingredients together until smooth.

8Glaze while warm with powdered sugar icing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
