caramel pumpkin spice cake

I really enjoy the flavor of pumpkin pie spices so decided to come up with a cake using it. My husband said this is a keeper. I tried a piece while it was still warm before I frosted and it is as good without the frosting as it is with it. Would really be good with a cup of coffee. I also think it would be good to add chopped pecans in it.

Ingredients For caramel pumpkin spice cake

  • 1 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/2 c
    self rising flour
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 3
    eggs
  • 4 oz
    cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 stick
    butter, softened
  • 2 tsp
    pumpkin pie spices
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    caramel coffee syrup
  • CARAMEL PUMKIN PIE SPICE FROSTING
  • 4 oz
    cream cheese, softened
  • 1 stick
    margarine, softened
  • 1 tsp
    pumpkin pie spices
  • 1 tsp
    caramel syrup
  • 2 c
    confectioners' sugar

How To Make caramel pumpkin spice cake

    Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease and flour loaf pan. Cream together butter and cream cheese, add sugar and beat well, add eggs, beat well, add both fours,mix, add pumpkin spice and caramel syrup, mix well. Pour into prepared loaf pan and bake 45 minutes or until toothpick come out clean.

    Frosting: Cream margarine and cream cheese until smooth, add pumpkin spice mix, caramel syrup and confectioners sugar, mix well. Frost top and all sides of cake.
