Ingredients For caramel layer chocolate squares

  • 14 oz
    light caramels, remove wrappers
  • 1/3 c
    evaporated milk
  • 1 box
    german chocolate cake mix
  • 1/2 c
    butter, softened
  • 2 Tbsp
    evaporated milk
  • 6 oz
    semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 c
    pecans, chopped

How To Make caramel layer chocolate squares

    Preheat oven to 350. Melt caramels with 1/3 cup evaporated milk over a low heat. Set aside.

    Combine remaining ingredients except chocolate chips until it holds together. Pat 1/2 of dough into 9 x 13 ungreased pan. Bake for 6 minutes. Remove and pour caramel sauce over the base. Sprinkle with chocolate chips, crumble remaining dough over the caramel and chocolate chips. Return to oven and bake for 15-18 minutes. Refrigerate after cooling slightly so that caramel sets. Cut into slices and serve.
