caramel frosting
We love this frosting. It's been through 5 generations in our family. If I make this frosting when "certain" people are around, I have to guard the frosting or it disappears spoonful by spoonful.

Ingredients For caramel frosting

1 stickbutter

1 cpacked light brown sugar

1/4 cmilk

2 cpowdered sugar

1 tspvanilla extract
How To Make caramel frosting

1Melt butter in pan on top of stove over medium low heat.

2Add brown sugar and milk.

3Boil over low heat for 2 minutes, stirring all the time.

4Remove, cool (just to luke warm and if it gets to thick you can place it back on the stove for a few minutes). I set the pan in a larger pan of cold water, stirring every 5 minutes, to cool it faster if I am in a hurry.

5Add vanilla and powdered sugar. Beat well with hand mixer and frost cake.

6Will frost a 9x13-inch cake.

7If you want a thicker frosting then double this recipe if you are making a layer cake.

8This is the icing we use on the Autumn Surprise cake, but is good on about any cake you can think of.
