This cake shows up at almost all functions in South Louisiana.........it is soooo good! (And the plus is, it is easy to make!)

Ingredients For cajun praline cake

  • 1 box
    yellow butter cake mix, and all ingredients listed on box
  • 2 Tbsp
    all purpose flour
  • 1 box
    or 2 2/3 cups light brown sugar
  • 1 stick
    butter
  • 1 1/2 c
    chopped pecans
  • 2
    eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla

How To Make cajun praline cake

  • 1
    Bake cake mix per box instructions in a 9x13 cake pan and let cool. In a saucepan, melt butter and add brown sugar, flour and eggs. Cook for 3 minutes over low/medium heat. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and nuts and pour/spread over cooled cake Put back in oven at 400 degrees for 8 minutes. Let cool.
