Ingredients For buttery buttermilk cake

  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1 c
    melted butter
  • 1 c
    buttermilk
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1 Tbsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 c
    boiling water

How To Make buttery buttermilk cake

    Preheat oven to 350. Butter and flour a 13X9 or two 8 inch cake pans.

    Sift together dry ingredients

    Blend in butter and buttermilk. Beat in eggs one at a time. Stir in Vanilla. (yes that is 1 tablespoon) Stir in boiling water.

    Pour into prepared pan(s), let rest for 5 minutes. Bake for 45 minutes or until knife in center comes out clean. Sprinkle generously with cinnamon and sugar while hot from oven. Or pour caramel ice cream topping over cake while hot, (you won't need the entire jar).
