I have had this recipe for about 30 years, I can't even remember where I got it from. This is my husband and my favorite cake.

Ingredients For butternut cake

1 ccrisco

2 csugar
-
4eggs
-
2 1/2 call purpose flour

1/2 cself rising flour

1 cmilk

2 Tbspbutter nut flavoring
- FROSTING

1-(8) ozcream cheese, softened

1 stickbutter
-
1 boxconfectioners' sugar

2 Tbspbutter nut flavoring

1 cchopped nuts
How To Make butternut cake

1Cream sugar, crisco and eggs. Add 1 cup of all purpose flour and beat, add rest of ingredients and beat until well mixed. Pour into 2 or 3 greased and floured cake pans.(Depends on how thick you want the layers) Bake at 350 degrees for about 25-30 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool on wire racks 10 minutes in pans the turn onto rack and completely cool.

2Frosting: Cream butter and cream cheese, add sugar and flavoring, beat until mixed. Stir in pecans.
