I love making this pound cake it is so moist it melts in your mouth ---- yummy and i have also have used lemon as well not a fan of almond extract, but of course you can use any flavor that you desire. Enjoy....

2 1/2 csugar

1/2 cbutter, room temperature

1 tspvanilla extract

3 call purpose flour
-
1 cbuttermilk
-
1/2 ccrisco butter shortening
-
4 lgeggs, @ room temp.

1/2 tsplemon extract

1/2 tspbaking powder
How To Make buttermilk pound cake

1Cream sugar,shortening,butter until fluffy. Add eggs one at the time, beating after each. Add vanilla, lemon. Stir well. Sift together flour, and baking powder.Add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk. Pour into a greased and floured tube pan. Bake @325 for 1 hour and 15 mins. Cool completley in pan for 10 mins. cool on rack after removing from pan.
