This is an old recipe of my mother-in-law's. There is no time or number of servings. It is a good cake recipe.

Ingredients For buttermilk cake

1/2 cbutter

1 cpecans, in pieces

1 craisins boiled & cooled and rolled in flour

3 cflour

2 tspbaking soda

1 tspground cloves

1 tspground allspice

1 tspground cinnomon

1/2 tspsalt
How To Make buttermilk cake

1Cream sugar,butter and eggs. Sift dry ingredients together, then add to wet ingredients.Mix well. Bake in a 11x17 inch pan at 350 degrees until done.Use a cake tester or wooden pick in center; if it comes out clean it is done.

2Frosting 2 cups brown sugar 3/4 cup of heavy cream 1 tablespoon of butter 2 tsp vanilla Boil brown sugar, cream to soft-ball stage. Take off heat.Add butter,cool.Add vanilla,beat until it loses its gloss.Frost the cake with the frosting.
