Decided to try this recipe from Lisa Glass and the smell of it alone will pull you right in to the world of Chocolate Magic, lol (I only made a few minor adjustments to fit my tastes)

- CAKE BATTER

1 3/4 call purpose flour

2 csugar
-
3/4 ccocoa powder- hershey's

2 tspbaking soda

1 tspbaking powder

1 tspsalt
-
2eggs
-
1 cstrong black coffee, cooled

1 tspreal vanilla extract

1/2 cvegetable oil
-
1 cbuttermilk
- FROSTING
-
3 cpowdered sugar
-
2 ozmelted unsweetened chocolate

1/2 cbutter, softened

5 Tbspmilk
-
2 Tbspreal vanilla extract
- DECORATIONS
-
hershey's chocolate syrup

semi sweet chocolate chips
-
white chocolate chips
How To Make black magic cake (the sister)

1Combine batter mixture. Mix for a few minutes. Batter will be thinner than box cake mixes.

2Pour batter into a greased and floured 9x13 pan or two 9 inch cake pans. Bake at 350 degrees ( I learned through til, cooking times vary from 30-45 minutes) depending on your pans. Place in fridge to cool.

3Combine frosting ingredients in a bowl and mix. Spread over cool cakes. I add chocolate chips in between the layers for a little texture. Decorate and enjoy!
