This recipe has been with my family and friends forever. It's a verbal pass-along from way back when. These have a great chocolate density and rich flavor. You'll never consider boxed again. And they are easy!

Ingredients For best brownies

  • 1 stick
    butter, melted
  • 2 1/2
    chocolate, unsweetened squares
  • 2 lg
    eggs
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 c
    all purpose flour (scant 1/2 cup)
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract

How To Make best brownies

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • 2
    grease and flour an 8x8 baking dish
  • 3
    melt chocolate and butter over a double boiler and let cool.
  • 4
    mix flour, sugar, eggs and vanilla in mixing bowl.
  • 5
    add melted chocolate/butter and mix until blended.
  • 6
    pour into greased and floured dish and bake for 25-28 minutes. They might seem a little undercooked, but will continue to bake and set while they cool. Underdone is better than overdone.

    let cool completely before cutting into squares.
