This was a staple in our house when the bananas got too ripe. I dug it out recently and made it - OMG was so good and brought back several memories!! You will see there is no time for how long to bake-so start checking it at maybe 30 min or whatever is normal for cakes. Mom knew but must not have shared.

Ingredients For banana cake

  • 1 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 c
    butter
  • 2
    eggs
  • 2 1/2 c
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1 c
    buttermilk
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 2-3
    mashed ripe bananas

How To Make banana cake

    Mix all ingredients together - Bake in a 9 x 13" pan that has been greased and floured....350 degrees.
