I've always loved these delicious, moist bars...this recipe comes from my great grandmother, as far as gram could remember. They are great with just a sprinkling of confectioners' sugar, but can ice if you prefer. I like to be able to taste the flavors, so I don't usually add a glaze. Enjoy!

1 ceach - raisins & water

1/2 coil

1 csugar
-
1slightly beaten egg
-
1 3/4 cflour
-
1/4 tspsalt
-
1 tspbaking soda
-
1 tspeach - ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, ground allspice

1/2 tspground cloves
-
1/2 cchopped nuts
How To Make ~ awesome spice raisin bars ~

1In a medium saucepan, bring raisins and water to a boil. Remove from heat. Stir in oil. Cool just to lukewarm. Preheat oven to 375 degree F. Grease a 9 x 13 baking dish or pan. Stir in sugar and egg.

2In a medium bowl, sift together flour, spices, soda and salt. Beat the raisin mixture into the flour mixture and stir in nuts.

3Pour and spread evenly into prepared pan. Bake for 20 minutes.

4When cool you can glaze or sprinkle with confectioner's sugar.
