This is a tried and true family favorite recipe from my friend Wanda.Some of the family members prefer for the cake to fall.

Ingredients For aunt ernice's pound cake

  • 3 c
    sugar
  • 3 c
    flour
  • 3 stick
    butter
  • 6
    eggs
  • 1-1/2 c
    milk
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 2 tsp
    pure vanilla extract
  • 3 tsp
    baking powder

How To Make aunt ernice's pound cake

    Cream butter and sugar until fluffy and light.

    Beat in eggs one at a time.

    Combine dry ingredients in a separate bowl, then add 1/4 of dry ingred. to sugar/butter/egg mixture; mix well. Continue adding dry ingred. in fourths.

    Add milk and mix well at medium speed, then stir in vanilla.

    Grease and flour a large TUBE pan. Pour batter in slowly. Bake at 325 degrees for about one hour.
