Another one of Mom's great cakes, and just so easy to make. I have fond memories of this baking and making my mouth water at the smells!

Ingredients For applesauce pound cake, mom's

  • 1 pkg
    duncan hines spice cake deluxe mix
  • 1/2 c
    crisco
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar
  • 4
    eggs
  • 1/2 c
    applesauce
  • 3/4 c
    water
  • GLAZE:
  • 1 c
    powdered sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    milk

How To Make applesauce pound cake, mom's

  • 1
    Blend all ingredients in large bowl, beat at med speed 2 min. Bake in a greased and floured 10 inch tube pan (that would be an angel food cake pan to some people) at 350 degrees for 45-55 min. Cool right side up for about 25 min, then remove from pan. Mix glaze ingredients, glaze cake.
