1 Tbsppecans, finely chopped

1egg, beaten

2/3 cbuttermilk
How To Make apple streusel coffee cake

1APPLES

2Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a saute pan. Add the apples, 1/2 cup sugar and lemon juice

3Cook over medium heat until the sugar dissolves. Continue to cook, stirring as needed until the apples are tender and carmelized. Stir in cinnamon

4COFFEE CAKE

5Whisk together 1 1/2 cups flour with the baking powder, baking soda, allspice and a pinch of salt

6In another bowl, beat together 4 tablespoons of butter with 3/4 cup sugar until light and pale yellow. Mix in egg until incorporated

7Slowly beat in the buttermilk and the flour mixture in 3 alternating batches, ending with the flour mixture. Fold in the apples

8Preheat the oven to 350. Spray a 9x9 inch baking pan with an oil spray and sprinkled flour

9STREUSEL

10Mix together 3/4 cup flour, brown sugar, pecans and 6 tablespoons cold butter, cut into cubes

12Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Crumble the streusel evenly over the top and bake for about 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean
