apple streusel cheesecake bars

This recipe is adapted from Paula Deen's recipe. Usually I am not a fan of her recipes but this one looked too good to pass up :) It combines 2 of my favorite desserts: cheesecake and apple crumble?

Ingredients For apple streusel cheesecake bars

  • 1 3/4 c
    all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 c
    firmly packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 c
    butter, softened
  • CHEESECAKE PART
  • 2 pkg
    pkg. (250 g each) cream cheese
  • 1/2 c
    sugar, plus 2 tablespoons, divided
  • 2
    large eggs
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • PREPARING APPLES
  • 4
    apples, peeled, cored and finely chopped
  • 1 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • STREUSEL PART
  • 3/4 c
    firmly packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 c
    flour
  • 1/2 c
    quick cooking oats
  • 1/2 c
    butter, softened

How To Make apple streusel cheesecake bars

  • 1
    base part: In a medium bowl, combine flour and brown sugar. Cut in butter with a pastry blender until mixture is crumbly. Press evenly into a 13x9-inch baking pan lined with heavy-duty aluminum foil. Bake 15 minutes, or until lightly browned.

    Cheesecake part: In a large bowl, beat cream cheese with an electric mixer at medium speed until smooth. Beat in 1/2 cup sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth. Pour over warm crust.

    Preparing apples: In a small bowl, stir together chopped apples, 2 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon. Top cheesecake part with chopped apples.

    Streusel part In a small bowl, combine all ingredients and sprinkle evenly over apples. Bake 30 minutes, or until filling is set (until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean)
