Ingredients For apple nut cake
- CAKE:

1 1/2 csugar

1 cbrown sugar, firmly packed

3 cflour

1/2 tspnutmeg
-
3 1/2 cpeeled tart apples about 2 lb's cut into large dice 9 granny smith or newton

2 tspvanilla
-
1 1/2 coil
-
3eggs
-
2 tspcinnamon

1 tspbaking soda
-
1/2 tspsalt
-
1 cvery coarsely chopped english walnuts or black walnuts
- GLAZE:

3 Tbspbutter
-
3 Tbspsugar
-
1/4 tspvanilla
-
3 Tbsplight brown sugar

3 Tbspwhipping cream
How To Make apple nut cake

1CAKE: Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Generously butter and flour 10 inch tube pan shaking out excess

2Combine the first ingredients in a large bowl and blend well. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each one.

3Sift together dry ingredients. Add to first mixture blending thoroughly.

4Fold in apples, nuts and vanilla. Spoon into prepared pan evenly.

5Bake until cake tests done with a toothpick inserted comes out clean, About1 3/4 hours Let cool in pan 20 minutes.

6Turnout onto a wire rack and continue cooling while preparing glaze.

7GLAZE: Combine all ingredients in a heavy saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat. Let boil 1 minute. Spoon or pour over warm cake.
