Ingredients For apple dapple cake

  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    vegetable oil
  • 3
    eggs
  • 3 c
    sifted flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla
  • 3 c
    peeled chopped apples
  • 2 c
    flaked coconut
  • 1 c
    chopped dates
  • 1 c
    chopped pecans
  • CARAMEL TOPPING
  • 1 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 c
    butter
  • 1/2 c
    milk

How To Make apple dapple cake

    Preheat oven to 325 degrees F
  • 2
    Grease and flour 9 or 10-inch tube pan.

    Mix together sugar and oil. Add eggs and beat well. Blend in flour, soda, salt, cinnamon and vanilla.

    Stir in apples, coconut, dates and pecans. Spoon batter into pan. Bake 1 1/2 hours or until wooden pick inserted in comes out clean.

    Remove from oven and immediately pour hot caramel topping over cake and allow to soak in. Let cake cool completely before removing from pan. Chill for easier slicing..

    To prepare caramel topping: Combine all ingredients in a saucepan. Heat and stir until blended. About 2 minutes.
