- PRALINE FROSTING

1/2 cbrown sugar, firmly packed

How To Make apple-cream cheese cake

11. PREPARE FILLING: Beat first 3 ingredients at medium speed with electric mixer until blended and smooth. Add egg, flour, and vanilla extract; beat until just blended. Set aside.

2PREPARE CAKE BATTER: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 1.Toast pecans in shallow pan 8 to 10 minutes or until fragrant. Stirring half way through. 2. Stir together 3-cups flour and next 7 ingredients in large bowl, stir in eggs and next 3 ingredients. Stir until dry ingredients are moistened. Stir in apples and pecans. 3. Spoon two-thirds of apple mixture into a greased and floured 14 cup angel or bunt cake pan. Spoon cream cheese filling over apple mixture. Leaving a 1-inch border around edges of pan.Swirl filling through apple mixture with a paring knife. Spoon remaining apple mixture over cream cheese filling spreading to edges. 4.Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hr to 1 hr. 15 minutes.or until a long wooden pick inserted near center comes out clean.Cool cake in pan on wire rack for 15 minutes;remove from pan to wire rack and cool completely (about 2 hours). After cake is cooled move to serving platter.

3PREPARE FROSTING:1. Bring 1/2 cup light brown sugar and 3 Tbsp. milk to a boil in 2-qt. saucepan over medium heat. Whisking constantly; boil 1 minute; whisking constantly. 2.Remove from heat; stir in vanilla extract.Gradually whisk in confectioners' sugar until smooth; stir gently 3-5 minutes or until mixture begins to cool and thickens slightly. 3. Pour or drizzle over cooled cake. Add more chopped toasted pecans for garnish if desired.Refrigerate for 2 hours. Then serve.
