Ingredients For amaretto cake

  • 1 pkg
    (18.25 oz) plain yellow cake mix
  • 1 pkg
    (5.1oz)vanilla instant pudding mix
  • 3/4 c
    amaretto liqueur
  • 1/2 c
    cold water
  • 1/2 c
    vegetable oil
  • 4 lg
    eggs(at room temp.)
  • 1/4 tsp
    pure almond extract

How To Make amaretto cake

    preheat oven 350degree lightly spray a 10-inch tube pan with vegetable oil spray,then dust with flour shake out excess flour.place the cake mix,pudding mix,amaretto,water oil,eggs and almond extract in a large mixing bowl,blend on low speed for one minute.stop and scrap down the side of the bowl,increase the mixer to medium and beat two minutes more.the batter should look thick and smooth.pour batter and place in oven.bake for 48to52 minutes or until golden brown and spring back when lightly press with finger.

    prepare the glaze,1 cup confectioners sugar (sifted)31/2 tablespoons amaretto and 1/3 slivered almonds (toasted).mix all together until well combined,spoon over top of warm cake,scatter the toasted almonds over the top to garnish.
