Ingredients: 1 1/2 tsp salt; 1 lb fresh (cut into 1” pieces) or frozen green beans (See note about using canned); 2 Tbsp olive oil; 1 1/2 cups button mushrooms, trimmed and cut into 1/2-inch pieces; 1 tsp freshly ground black pepper; 1 large shallot, minced; 1 Tbl garlic, minced; 1/4 tsp freshly ground nutmeg; 1/2 tsp dill; 1 cup vegetable broth; 4 Tbl cornstarch; 1 cup heavy cream; 6-8 large portabella mushroom caps, cleaned or if making appetizers use 12-24 medium sized caps; 16 crushed butter crackers *or can use crispy onion straws; 1-2 Tbl melted butter; Large bowl of ice water
