INGREDIENTS

1 cup dried chick peas (garbanzo beans) soaked overnight in 5 cups of water (rinse before cooking)

2 tablespoons olive oil
•
1 or 2 cloves of garlic chopped
•
2 carrots chopped
•
1 celery stalk chopped
•
½ - 1 teaspoon salt
•
½ teaspoon basil
•
1 teaspoon oregano
•
dash of thyme
•
hot pepper flakes to taste
•
½ cup tomato puree
•
4½ cups of water
•
1 cup of dried small pasta (i used ditalini, my mother in law breaks up spaghetti into pieces, whatever you prefer)
