Char Siu Chicken - Once Upon a Chef

INGREDIENTS
2.5 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs (see note if you prefer white meat)
2 large garlic cloves, put through a press or minced and mashed
½ teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder
¼ cup honey, preferably amber colored
Brimming ¼ cup hoisin sauce
3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons ketchup
Scant 4 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
