A tasty treat for a holiday breakfast. Serve with maple syrup. Makes 4-6 waffles, depending on size of waffle iron. I have never made these on a Belgium waffle maker, so don't know if it would work.

Ingredients For spiced gingerbread waffles

2 call purpose flour

1/2 tspbaking soda

2 1/2 tspbaking powder

3/4 tspsalt

1/4 cgranulated sugar

1 1/2 tspground cinnamon

1 1/2 tspground ginger

1/2 tspground cardamom

1/4 tspground cloves

1 1/2 cbuttermilk

4 Tbspbutter, melted and slightly cooled

2 lgeggs
-
3 Tbspmolasses

1/2 tspvanilla extract
How To Make spiced gingerbread waffles

1Heat waffle iron.

2In the meantime, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, sugar and spices. Set aside.

3In a separate bowl, whisk together buttermilk, butter, eggs, molasses and vanilla.

4Add wet ingredients to dry, whisking until smooth.

5Coat waffle iron with cooking spray.

6Pour batter into waffle iron and cook as per instructions (it’s usually called for to fill the waffle well about 3/4 full). Close and cook until waffle is golden and cooked through.
