Who knew that banana pancakes with cardamom would be popular in Switzerland? Sounds good to me too. It was given to me by my friend Shauna who got it from her hubby's Swiss aunt who lives in a Canton in Switzerland (Shauna was't sure which) .

Ingredients For swiss banana, cardamom, chocolate pancakes

  • 1 c
    flour
  • 1 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 3/4 tsp
    cardamom or to taste
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1
    egg, beaten
  • 1 c
    milk
  • 2 Tbsp
    vegetable oil
  • 2
    ripe bananas, mashed (leave a few chunks)
  • 2 - 4 oz
    good swiss chocolate ( lindt in easy to find)
  • enough cream to to thin the chocolate to your desired sauce consistensy

How To Make swiss banana, cardamom, chocolate pancakes

    Combine all dry ingredients.

    In separate bowl, mix together egg, milk, vegetable oil and bananas.

    Stir flour mixture into banana mixture; batter will be a little lumpy.

    Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium high heat.

    Pour or scoop batter onto pan, using about 1/4 cup for each pancake.

    Cook until pancakes are golden brown on both sides.

    Gently melt the chocolate then add enough cream to make your sauce and pour over the pancakes for a wonderful treat.
