Making waffles one day my daughter wanted to make them red...light bulb...why not make "red velvet" waffles. Her and her friend snarfed them down in no time! I have also thought I could use green for St Patrick's Day and omit the cocoa powder...so may ideas...gotta get cooking!

Ingredients For red velvet waffles w/ cream cheese sauce
- WAFFLES

3 cpancake mix
-
2eggs
-
1/3 cmelted butter
-
1 1/2 cwater
-
1/3 ccocoa powder
-
1-2 Tbspred food coloring (more or less until you get the color you want)
- CREAM CHEESE "SYRUP"
-
8 ozcream cheese
-
2 tspvanilla extract
-
1 cpowdered sugar
-
1/3 cmilk ( more or less to desired consistency)
How To Make red velvet waffles w/ cream cheese sauce

1Heat waffle iron Mix pancake mix and cocoa powder in bowl with whisk. Add remaining ingredients and whisk until fairly smooth.

2Pour in waffle iron & cook.

3While cooking the waffles, in small sauce pan warm "syrup" ingredients stirring often until cream cheese is melted and no lumps remain.

4Pour syrup over waffles.

5Eat & enjoy...YUM!
