Really good with sauted apples in fall or sliced strawberries in summer. Some just top with lemon juice and powdered suger..I go all the way with berries and ice cream or sauted spiced apples and cinnimon ice cream

Ingredients For pannakuchen

  • 2/3 c
    all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 c
    milk
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 4
    eggs
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter

How To Make pannakuchen

    Preheat oven to 400 degrees. When preheated, add the butter to a heavy oven safe 10 inch pan (cast iron is ideal) or 9x9 baking dish. Place in oven and heat while makeing the batter

    Batter: Put milk, flour, baking powder and eggs in a blender and blend until smooth. Can use a submersion blender too.

    Carefully take the pan out of the oven and pour batter on top of melted butter. Bake 15-18 minutes serve with fresh fruit, scoop of ice cream, or spiced sauted apples and cinnimon ice cream. If need be a squirt of lemon juice and a dusting of powdered sugar is fine.
