1/2 tspbaking soda

zest of 1 orange

2 Tbspbutter, at room temperature

1/2 cbrown sugar, firmly packed

1 tspvanilla

1/2 capplesauce, unsweetened

1/3 cwater
-
2 cold-fashioned rolled oats

1/2 cdried cherries
How To Make oatmeal breakfast cookie

1Combine the flour, baking soda, and orange zest in small bowl.

2Whip the butter and brown sugar until well combined.

3Mix in the eggs and vanilla, then add the applesauce and water.

4Add the flour mixture to the wet mixture.

5Mix in the oats, then the dried cherries.

6Chill the dough for 30 minutes to firm up.

7Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line some baking sheets with parchment paper.

8Use an ice cream scoop to scoop balls of dough onto the baking sheet.

9Bake 15 minutes. Flatten the cookies and bake 3 minutes more.

10Let cool on the baking sheet 5 minutes, then remove to wire rack to cool.
