My mom made these almost every Sunday growing up, Buttermilk Pancakes from scratch are the best.

Ingredients For momma's buttermilk pancakes

  • 2
    egg yolks
  • 1 pt
    buttermilk
  • 1 1/2 c
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 3 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 6 Tbsp
    butter, melted

How To Make momma's buttermilk pancakes

    Beat egg yolks well, add to buttermilk. Sift dry ingredients into mix. Mix well. Slowly add blend in melted butter.

    Cook on heated griddle. Mom used to throw a little water on the griddle to see if it was warm enough to start pouring pancake mix. The water will bubble when it hits the pan, then you know it's ready. Adjust the heat to how brown you want the outside. I like mine kind of light, so I usually put at medium-low.

    Turn the pancakes when they begin to bubble, watch bottom to desired color, i.e darker or lighter etc.
