Eat your Wheat-berries with raisins and maple syrup as a variation. Wheat-berries can also be used in pilafs or grain salads. Cook as indicated, drain and cool. This is good if their is only 2 people in the house because you can eat it for breakfast and use the leftovers for a pilaf for lunch or dinner.

Ingredients For hot wheatberry cereal

  • 1 c
    wheatberries
  • 5 c
    water
  • vegan margarine
  • soy, almond, or rice milk
  • honey or agave nectar

How To Make hot wheatberry cereal

  • 1
    rinse and sort berries. Cover with water and soak all day(or 8 hours)in slow cooker.

    cover. Cook on low overnight (or 10 hours).

    Drain, if needed. Serve hot with honey, your choice of milk, and butter.
