1 large granny smith apple peeled and sliced thin

2 tablespoons butter for skillet
- MEDIUM BOWL:

1/3 cup flour

2/3 cup milk

4 large eggs

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon vanilla
- SMALL BOWL:
-
4 tablespoons sugar
-
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
-
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
How To Make bonnie’s german apple pancake

1Peel and core a large Granny Smith apple and slice it thin.

2Melt butter in a 10-inch, well seasoned, cast iron frying pan.

3In the small bowl, combine 3 tablespoons sugar with cinnamon and nutmeg.

4In the medium bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, flour, vanilla and the reserved 1 tablespoon of the cinnamon mixture.

5Sprinkle the small bowl mixture evenly over the melted butter, add the apple slices and gently stir to coat the apples.

6Cook over medium heat 4 to 5 minutes. Cool slightly.

7Pour the medium bowl mixture gently over the apple slices.

8Bake in a 400 degree oven until golden brown and sides are puffy, approximately 15 to 20 minutes.

9Serve immediately with maple syrup and whipped cream if you desire. Enjoy!
