Ingredients For fruitcake scones

2 3/4 cflour, divided

1/3 csugar
-
1 1/4 tspbaking powder

1/2 tspbaking soda

1/2 cbutter, cold
-
3/4 cfruitcake mix

1/4 ccandied cherries
-
1 tspalmond extract
-
1 cbuttermilk
How To Make fruitcake scones

1Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

2Spray scone pan with cooking spray.

3In a large mixing bowl combine 2 cups flour, the sugar, baking powder and baking soda.

4Add butter. Use hands to blend until coarse crumbs are formed.

5Add fruitcake mix and cherries, mix until combined.

6Add almond extract to buttermilk. Stir to combine.

7Pour buttermilk into flour mixture. Mix until soft dough is formed.

8Add remaining flour, 1/4 cup at a time, until dough is not sticky.

9Add dough to scone pan.

10Bake 15-18 minutes until lightly brown and toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

11Cool in pan 15 minutes.
