These scrumptious French Toast Sticks are strips of Texas Toast dipped in egg batter, fried to golden perfection, and rolled in cinnamon sugar. Ingredients For french toast sticks

6 slicetexas toast or other thick sliced bread preferably stale

3 lgeggs

2/3 cmilk
-
1 tspvanilla

1/2 csugar
-
1 Tbspground cinnamon

2 Tbspbutter
-
2 Tbspcanola oil
How To Make french toast sticks

1Trim the crusts off the bread and cut into sticks.

2Whisk together the eggs, milk and vanilla. Combine the sugar and cinnamon on a shallow plate.

3Melt 1 tablespoon butter and heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Dip the sticks in the egg batter letting the excess drip off. Add them to the skillet in single layer with space between them. Flip them after the bottom has browned. Cook until golden brown on both sides. Work in batches adding more butter and oil if needed.

4Remove from the pan and using tongs roll them in the cinnamon sugar.
