homemade oatmeal packets

I came upon the idea online somewhere about putting together these pre-maid homemade oatmeal packets. Yummy, inexpensive & healthy. Feel free to add more or less sugar, creamer or fruit to suit your taste. These will make a nice sized bowl of oatmeal. (I got the idea from tammy's recipes online)

Ingredients For homemade oatmeal packets

*oats ( see below for amounts)

*ground oats groats or finely processed oats to make oat flour (this could be considered optional, but it does make for a creamier & thicker oatmeal)

*salt (see below for amounts)

*sugar, brown sugar or spenda packets ( see below for amounts)

*coffee creamer (see below for amounts) (don't substiture dry milk powder as it gets ransid for some reason when mixed with other ingredients)

*dried or freeze dried fruits (see below)

*spice (see below)
How To Make homemade oatmeal packets

1You basically add the listed ingredients into a ziplock sandwich bag or folding sandwich bags & tie with twist tie. Label bag with permanent marker so you know what flavor it is. I make lots of these at a time so I make an assembly line with my ingredients & several bowls. I measure my ingredients (assembly line style) into bowls then dump them into baggies & label.

2Cranberry or Cherry-½ cup oats, 2 tbsp ground oats, ¼ tsp salt, 2 tbsp sugar or 3 Splenda pkts, 2 tbsp creamer, 2 tbsp dried cranberries or cherries

3Cinnamon raisin-½ cup oats, 2 tbsp ground oats, ¼ tsp salt, 2 tbsp sugar or 3 Splenda pkts, 1 tbsp creamer, ½ tsp cinnamon, 2 tbsp raisins

4Blueberry--½ cup oats, 2 tbsp ground oats, ¼ tsp salt, 2 tbsp sugar or 3 Splenda pkts, 2 tbsp creamer, 2 tbsp dried blueberries

5Brown sugar-½ cup oats, 2 tbsp ground oats. ¼ tsp salt, 3 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tbsp creamer

6Strawberries & Cream-½ cup oats, 2 tbsp ground oats, ¼ tsp salt, 2 tbsp sugar or 3 Splenda pkts, 2 tbsp creamer, 2 tbsp freeze dried strawberries

7Peaches & Cream-½ cup oats, 2 tbsp ground oats, ¼ tsp salt, 2 tbsp sugar or 3 Splenda pkts, 2 tbsp creamer, 2 tbsp freeze dried peaches

8Strawberry & Banana--½ cup oats, 2 tbsp ground oats, ¼ tsp salt, 2 tbsp sugar or 3 Splenda pkts, 2 tbsp creamer, 1=2 tbsp freeze dried strawberries & 1-2 tbsp freeze dried bananas

9Raisins & Spice-½ cup oats, 2 tbsp ground oats, ¼ tsp salt, 2 tbsp sugar or 3 Splenda pkts, 1 tbsp creamer, ½ tsp pumpkin pie spice, 2 tbsp raisins

10Apple & Cinnamon-½ cup oats, 2 tbsp ground oats, ¼ tsp salt, 2 tbsp sugar or 3 Spenda pkts, 1 tbsp creamer, ½ tsp cinnamon & 2-3 tbsp chopped dried apples

11Chocolate--½ cup oats, 2 tbsp ground oats, ¼ tsp salt, 3-4 tbsp sugar, 1 tbsp creamer, 1 tsp cocoa powder & 1 tbsp chocolate chips

12Apricots & Cream--½ cup oats, 2 tbsp ground oats, ¼ tsp salt, 2 tbsp sugar or 3 Splenda pkts, 2 tbsp creamer, 2 tbsp diced, dry apricots

13Banana & Cream---½ cup oats, 2 tbsp ground oats, ¼ tsp salt, 2 tbsp sugar or 3 Splenda pkts, 2 tbsp creamer, 2 tbsp banana chip crumbs ( simply put banana chips in food processor & pulse to crumbs) or use freeze dried bananas

14Date & Nut-½ cup oats, 2 tbsp ground oats, ¼ tsp salt, 2 tbsp brown sugar, ¼ tsp cinnamon, 1 tbsp creamer, 3 tbsp chopped dates, 1 tbsp chopped walnuts

15To make oatmeal, put in saucepan with 1 cup of water & simmer until done.
