Ingredients For cinnamon & apple coffee cake

  • 1 pkg
    cinnamon rolls
  • 1 lg
    egg
  • 1/4 c
    skim milk
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1 md
    gala or honeycrisp apple or ,whatever you have on hand, diced
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar

How To Make cinnamon & apple coffee cake

    Preheat oven to 350º

    In a medium bowl, combine eggs, milk, cinnamon and extract. Stir until smooth. Set aside.

    In a small pan over medium heat, combine butter, apples and brown sugar. Cook until sugar starts to caramelize, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat.

    Cut cinnamon roll dough into 3 even pieces, then cut those in 3 pieces. Making 9 pieces total per each cinnamon roll. Set icing aside.

    Spray 9 x9 inch pan with Pam. Put the cinnamon roll pieces evenly in the pan. Pour the egg mixture on top. Then put the apple mixture evenly over the cinnamon roll mixture.

    Bake for about 20 minutes until golden brown. Cool for 5 minutes. Mix about 1/4 teaspoon of milk in reserved icing. Drizzle icing over coffee cake.
